terbutaline/Brethine causing autism

by rndawn10

Please let me know if you took terbutaline/brethine while you were pregnant.  If you took this medication and have a child with a spectrum disorder-autism, apsergers, PPD-NOS, etc... or speech delays, the research has proven to show the terbutaline to be a cause of autism.  You can look the study up on line.  Dr Zimmerman, John Hopkins University, did a study with terbutaline and found a correlation between the drug and autism.  Please let me know and I can direct you further.

I used this drug. However after learning about autism I am certain that my husband has aspergers.

I think I used this, I was on many many asthma meds. while pregnant. I also could not breath well AT all in my 1st 12 weeks. I need to research further to see how much of it is in Albuterol and proventil...etc. I even had to take stereoids oral and inhaled. I'm SICK about this it slaps me like a ton of bricks, I made so many bad choices...I should've thrown my cat out on the street instead of wheezing! In all fairness to myself, I was also reactive to cold weather, and so many allergens...in my 2nd trimester I moved to fl. out of the cold and have been a million times better....but it was clearly too late. I'm thinking a hep b and boosters in a 5-8 lb. new born wasn't the best move either.....I'm trying to educate people not to repeat my mistakes with vaccines and medications but sometimes I want to scream that I can't turn the clock back on my own childs life. Thank you for the info, I'll be looking into this. And I will not let it become another way for me to persecute myself..I swear LOL!

I took terbutaline for months before my child was born... I was also on mag sulfate after the terb failed to do its job. Here's the thing: I was on these meds with BOTH pregnacies, but only have one child with Autism...
