DIR/Floortime is a way of relating to a child and adults in which we recognize and
respect the emotional experience and expressions of the person, shown in his or her actions, ideas, and intentions, and interact in a way that helps that person use his or her natural emotions with an even greater sense of purpose, building the capacity to engage and communicate, and at increasingly complex levels of functional development.
